SUMMARY:Sunset Beach Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a visit to Harbor Island for a sunset beach walk. We have conserved this place with a voluntary conservation agreement (conservation easement) on the dune system along the beach. \nThe outing will start with a brief presentation highlighting the island’s ecosystem and the special wildlife visitors. We will then walk the beach to look for the migratory and resident birds that visit the island year after year. \nThis field trip is scheduled around the moon cycle with the hope that we may see horseshoe crabs as they visit the shore on their annual spawning migration as well as shorebirds making their monumental migration to nesting grounds. \nWhat to wear and bring: water\, binoculars (if you have them)\, comfortable shoes that can get wet\, and bug spray. \nRegistration required\, space is limited.\nEmail Kristin to save your space. \nGate passes will be called in for attendees.
