SUMMARY:Blocker Field Earth Day Clean Up
DESCRIPTION:Blocker Field Earth Day Clean Up\nFriday\, April 24th\n\n\n\nIn 1997 the Open Land Trust acquired Blocker Field and the Blocker Store to help preserve this beautiful spot overlooking the marsh—at a time when concerns about commercial blight were growing along the highway. \nLongtime locals remember the nostalgic “Blocker Store.”  Over time\, it became the quirky St. Helena Market\, known for local produce\, a colorful personality behind the counter\, and the unofficial welcome center of St. Helena Island.  It is currently the home of Lowcountry Cider Co & Superior Coffee. \nThe property has a beautiful shoreline\, but has collected quite a bit of trash and debris over the years.  In honor of Earth Day\, we are partnering with Beaufort County to clean it up and enjoy the view while we work. \n\n\n \nLunch and all clean up materials provided – bags\, gloves\, grabbers\, etc. \nWear waterproof/mud friendly shoes and clothes. \n9:30am \nPlease park BEHIND the store in the grassy area behind the parking lots. \n507 Sea Island Parkway \nSt. Helena Island\, SC 29920 \nSign up HERE
