We are partnering with The Nature Conservancy and the Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Beaufort to help build an oyster reef along the Broad River to create a habitat for young oysters to grow as well as support the fish, crabs, and shrimp that call the Broad River home.
This is a great way to make a difference. No prior experience needed. We will provide the tools needed.
What to wear and bring: Volunteers should prepare for being outside for approximately five hours in the sun and mud. Therefore, please bring mud boots/old sneakers to get wet and dirty, a reusable water bottle, hat, sunscreen, and bug spray. Wear clothing that can get dirty; quick dry, long sleeve materials are suggested.
This is a complementary program.

There will also be opportunities to participate in the build on April 6th, April 20th, and May 18th.
