Blocker Field Earth Day Clean Up
Friday, April 24th
In 1997 the Open Land Trust acquired Blocker Field and the Blocker Store to help preserve this beautiful spot overlooking the marsh—at a time when concerns about commercial blight were growing along the highway.
Longtime locals remember the nostalgic “Blocker Store.” Over time, it became the quirky St. Helena Market, known for local produce, a colorful personality behind the counter, and the unofficial welcome center of St. Helena Island. It is currently the home of Lowcountry Cider Co & Superior Coffee.
The property has a beautiful shoreline, but has collected quite a bit of trash and debris over the years. In honor of Earth Day, we are partnering with Beaufort County to clean it up and enjoy the view while we work.

Lunch and all clean up materials provided – bags, gloves, grabbers, etc.
Wear waterproof/mud friendly shoes and clothes.
9:30am
Please park BEHIND the store in the grassy area behind the parking lots.
