The Open Land Legacy Fund:  A New Chapter for Local Conservation

We’re excited to share an important milestone:

The Open Land Trust has established its first board directed endowment – a permanent fund that will help care for land we love for generations to come.

Generous donors have offered $100,000 in matching funds to launch the Open Land Legacy Fund, which means your gift designated to the fund can be doubled.

This match helps us take a strong first step toward long-term financial sustainability.

Annual Giving Remains Essential

Our day to day work — stewardship, land protection, staff capacity — depends on annual support. The endowment is a both/and opportunity:

Annual gifts keep conservation strong today

Open Land Legacy Fund gifts secure our strength for tomorrow

Most of the endowment’s future growth will come from planned gifts — bequests and beneficiary designations to the endowment made by people who love this landscape.

The Bluff Legacy Circle honors those who make a legacy commitment to the Open Land Trust.

How You Can Participate

• Make an endowment gift during the match period — your impact is doubled.

• Consider a planned gift that reflects your love for the Lowcountry.

• Continue your annual support — it remains the heart of our work.

Thank you for helping protect the Lowcountry for generations.
