Sunset Beach Walk

Loading Events

Join us for a visit to Harbor Island for a sunset beach walk. We have conserved this place with a voluntary conservation agreement (conservation easement) on the dune system along the beach.

The outing will start with a brief presentation highlighting the island’s ecosystem and the special wildlife visitors. We will then walk the beach to look for the migratory and resident birds that visit the island year after year.

This field trip is scheduled around the moon cycle with the hope that we may see horseshoe crabs as they visit the shore on their annual spawning migration as well as shorebirds making their monumental migration to nesting grounds.

What to wear and bring: water, binoculars (if you have them), comfortable shoes that can get wet, and bug spray.

Registration required, space is limited.
Email Kristin to save your space.

Gate passes will be called in for attendees.
