Combahee Scott Tract

OLT closed on an easement to protect 209 acres on the Combahee River in Colleton County. This property was protected through landowner donation and SC Conservation Bank grant monies. The easement secures three-quarters of a mile of frontage along Combahee River and includes a 94.3-acre preserve area running the length of the river boundary that will protect the adjacent wetlands and bottomland hardwood forest: no activity – residential, forestry or otherwise – will occur in the preserve area. Stay tuned for more exciting land protection with the SC Conservation Bank in early 2022. Thanks to this easement and work in progress, boaters and water users can enjoy a protected Combahee River corridor from Morgan Island at the Atlantic Ocean to Yemassee.
