River Swamp

River Swamp is located in the ACE Basin at the intersection of Interstate 95 and Lowcountry Highway (21) at exit 42. This conservation easement protects 1,018 acres of important wildlife habitat and protects the water quality of the Combahee River, which provides public benefit to all water users, including those downstream. River Swamp is an additional puzzle piece that connects to over 12,000 acres of protected lands between Sniders Crossroads and the ACE Basin Wildlife Refuge Combahee Unit. This property adds to land protection along the upper Combahee River to create 15 miles of protected waterway
